Scott Francis is the Financial Education Consultant the firm utilises to seek insights regarding financial planning and investing.  He has been an experienced financial advisor having worked for three premier financial planning companies and has completed a number of degrees related to financial management.  These include an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services, a Bachelor of Business Management, a Master of Financial Planning, an MBA and a Master of Commerce.

He came into the financial services industry at a time when an ASIC and Australian Consumer Association labeled it as being 'structurally corrupt' largely because of the commission arrangements in the industry. He agreed with that assessment - hence his desire to build an independent financial planning firm.  Through his study Scott was exposed to the academic literature on portfolio management and particularly on the long term performance of managed funds.  The conclusions in the literature is clear - even though these products are popular in the the financial service industry, they are not the best way to manage peoples money.  This was the impetus for Scott to assist in the development of the research driven approach to investing that is described in the 'Portfolio Management' section of this website.

Scott is the author of the books 'A Clear Direction - Your Personal Finance Guide', 'High Income Investing - How to be Relaxed and Comfortable' and 'A Clear Direction - Your Guide to Being a Successful CEO of Your Life'.  He has also contributed to Alan Kohler's book 'The Eureka Way', is a regular contributor to Alan Kohler's Eureka Report and is a regular guest on ABC Queensland radio's Weekends with Warren program.
